Bio


     Kent De Mond is not only a world class athlete, he is also a well traveled world citizen. He has been to over 35 countries and has either lived, worked, or competed in most of them.

Born in Saudi Arabia, Kent was exposed to swimming and gymnastics at an early age. He was then able to apply his talent when his family moved to Vancouver, Canada, where he starred in commercials ranging from cleaning products to board games.

In middle school and high school he was involved in a wide range of sports such as karate, pole vaulting, wrestling, freestyle BMX and diving. As a junior in high school he shifted his focus primarily to diving where he made a name for himself on the Junior Olympic Diving Circuit.

He was recruited to dive at Princeton University where he majored in Art and Archaeology with a minor in Film and Video Production where he achieved Academic All-American status. As an athlete he won the Ivy League Conference title numerous times on both the 1 meter and 3 meter springboards. He went on to compete in the NCAA Nationals each year where he achieved Athletic All-American status three times. He was also a finalist in the 2004 Olympic Trials on the 10 meter platform synchronized diving event.

Kent began his stunt career in 2004 at a live action stunt show at an amusement park in Monticello, Indiana. There he was exposed to many stunt apparatus as he learned to jet ski, water ski, drive a ski boat, perform on the russian swing, fire dive, wake board, stage fight, and high dive.

In 2006 he worked in a live action stunt show in Beijing, China, where he also filmed his acclaimed senior thesis documentary entitled "Atlantis." Since 2007 he has worked in live action stunt shows across the globe in amazing locations such as Korea, Dubai, South Africa, and Saudi Arabia among others.

Kent was invited to join the cliff diving international circuit in 2008 where he did remarkably well, placing 4th in the World Cup circuit. In 2009 he was invited to be a part of history as Red Bull launched it's Cliff Diving World Series, which is now the premier cliff diving circuit in the world. He has competed all across Europe and the US as well as in Turkey, Mexico, and on the very remote Easter Island.

In 2011 he won the International Cliff Diving Championships in Acapulco with a perfect headfirst entry from 80 feet, clearing 16 feet of rock before entering the shallow gorge in precise timing with the waves. He has also had over five international 3rd place finishes on the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series and has placed 4th overall on the 2010 Series.

Kent has performed numerous stunt roles in feature films, TV series, and commercials. He was the focus of a CBS documentary on cliff diving entitled "3 Seconds to Glory." He has been a spokesperson for the sport of cliff diving, appearing on Fox Sports in both the USA and Australia, ESPN, as well as many national and international news broadcasts in the US and abroad.

He has worked regularly as a professional diver, and stunt double for Joey Lawrence on the ABC series, "Splash!" Kent has performed in commercials for VISA, General Electric, Atlantis Resort, and Red Bull.

Kent made the switch from performing in primarily diving roles in commericals to stunt roles in feature films and TV series when he moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 2013. He has performed in such TV series as The Walking Dead, Constantine, The Originals, and Sleepy Hollow. His feature films include The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Shadow, and Captain America: Civil War.

Kent's hobbies include surfing, skiing, whitewater kayaking, climbing, rappelling, BMX biking, filmmaking, and martial arts training.
